On September 15, 2021, the multimedia artist Mona Hatoum was finally awarded the 2020 edition of the Julio Gonzalez Prize, after a delay caused by the pandemic.
Born in Lebanon of Palestinian parents, this British artist mixes the personal and the political in her performances, installations and sculpture to explore the conflicts and the contradictions of today’s society.
