The 2016 edition of the Julio Gonzalez Prize has been awarded to Spanish artist Andreu Alfaro (1929-2012). A native of Valencia, Spain, Alfaro’s iron sculpture, abstract and linear, clearly attests to Gonzalez’s influence as the first to  “draw in space” with iron.
