Julio González : Exposition itinérante au Japon

Le vernissage de l'exposition a eu lieu au Musée Préfectoral de NAGASAKI le 7 Juin dernier. L'exposition circulera à travers le Japon cet automne jusqu'en juin 2016: du 28 novembre 2015 au 31 janvier 2016 au Setagaya Art Museum de Tokyo, et au musée Mie Prefectural Art Museum de Mie, du 9 février au 10 avril 2016. Plus d'une centaine de sculptures et dessins, sont exposés; un large éventail d'oeuvres qui n'ont pas été présentées au public Japonais depuis longtemps: en effet, Julio González n'avait pas été exposé au Japon depuis 1975.

The Centre Pompidou Malaga opened on the 28th of March 2015. The inaugural exhibition brings together great international artists from the 20th and 21st century, from Constantin Brancusi to Francis Bacon or Alexander Calder. Three important works of Julio González, sculptures of the late years 30s, including Le Cagoulard (The Cagoulard), Daphné and Monsieur Cactus (Homme Cactus I -Mister Cactus - Cactus man I ) are part of the exhibition.

From the 19th of February to the 21st of March, the Marlborough Gallery of Madrid displays a collective exhibition dedicated to Spanish sculpture from the 20th to the 21st century. Kosme de Baranano is the curator of the exhibition. You will find works by Julio González, including sculptures and drawings. An important work is present in this retrospective, La Femme (The Woman), also called "les trois plis" (the three pleats), an excellent example of sculptures of welded, cast iron.
